We
are in Borgo Bonsignore a little coastal suburb of Ribera in the Agrigento's
province. In the area there is the natural reserve "Foce del fiume Platani"
with its WWF area next to 4 km of sandy beaches. These wonders of nature compose
the superb view of
Oasi del Borgo villa resort.
The village center is Bonsignore square, with bar, pizzeria, tabacs, restaurant,
a little food market and the Saint Pietro church. The area is very calm and
only during the summer months many of the near by villas are populated. It's
perfect for people who are looking for relaxing accommodations, not noisy
and with wonderfull seaview. Borgo Bonsignore is a seaside and a rural
village as well. The main Ribera rural activity is the orange cultivation.

minutes by car and you can reach Seccagrande. It's a pleasant
mariner village, placed in a natural happy position
on the waters of Canale di Sicilia. It is a place of bathing tourism and summer
holidays. In its coast there are two most important
areas: Corvoand "lungomare Gagarin" (sea
picture on the left) in which you can relax and taste different
kinds of handicraft ice cream.
Sciacca
The city of the thermal bath
Just
15 minutes by car and you arrive in Sciacca. It places 60 m on the sea which
laps on its port. To the feet of the Monte Kronio. Here is great the
variety of shores: San Marco, the stazzone, Renella and to east, the Sovareto
beach and the coves of San Giorgio, Timpi Russi and Macauda. Known by the
Romans for the properties of its waters and for its happy position, the city
was a natural cross road of various dominations and cultures. The Carnival,
one of the most beautiful of the Sicily, is the most important city manifestation.
Toward Agrigento, on the left there is the Enchanted Garden or Castle
of Filippo Bentivegna, a paesant artist disappeared in the 1967. In a small
wooded little farm, he sculpted hundreds of stupendous mask and in the barks
of the trees, generating a motion of uneasy amazement.
Important to see:The San Calogero's
cave and the sanctuary, the pinewood and the Antiquarium, with some prihistoric
materials.
Agrigento
The city of the Temples Valley
Proceding
toward Agrigento, we reach the mythical Valley of the Temples, one
of the main archaeological areas of the mediterranean. On ample valley, sloaping
down towards the sea, the magnifecent rests of the Temples of the city that
Pindaro sang as "the most beautiful of the mortal men", rise
up. At the margin of the Valley there are the Regional Archaeological Museum,
the Oratory of Falaride and the Ellenistic-Roman Quarter. In
february the Valley, bleached by the almond tree blooms, and the city streets
embellish the "Almond Blossom Festival".
